Please reach us at minnieemacdougall@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Minnie MacDougall Counselling can help you with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, family and relationship problems, parenting, stress management, and more. Minnie will work with you to create a plan that meets your unique needs and goals.
The frequency of counselling sessions with Minnie MacDougall Counselling will depend on your individual needs and goals. Minnie likes to begin with meeting people fortnightly and then extending this to three- weekly and monthly as people begin to achieve their goals.
Everything you talk about with Minnie is fully confidential. Minnie will not be sharing any of your information with any other community members. The only time Minnie will share any information is if she has any safety concerns about you or your children's safety.
Minnie meets regularly with an external clinical supervisor to support her in her counselling. From time to time she may share information in those sessions, however Minnie's supervisor is also required to keep information private and confidential.
Minnie may see you from time to time at community events. Minnie will never discuss content from counselling sessions in public. Minnie will not let anyone know that you attend counselling with her. If you need to talk with Minnie, you must book an appointment.
Minnie is a NAATI qualified interpreter and does also work as an Auslan interpreter.
However to prevent role confusion and cross over, Minnie will not do interpreting work for current counselling clients. Once you have finished counselling, Minnie will allow a gap of 6 to 12 months before taking on an interpreting job for you. If you have questions about this, please discuss further with Minnie.
Fees are $190 per session. Clients that are plan- managed or self- managed are able to use their NDIS funding to cover payments for counselling. Minnie charges from the Social Work line under Capacity Building- Improved Daily Living.
Please let Minnie know if you would like her to discuss counselling with your Support Coordinator.
If you would like to get the counselling process started, please contact Minnie on the link below. Minnie will ask you to share some of your contact details, your NDIS information and also a brief summary of what you want to talk about in counselling. This helps her prepare for the session ahead of time and to make sure she will be the best counsellor for you.
Minnie has face to face appts available on Fridays at her office at Thrive Wellness Hub, Wickham, and online appts available on other days of the week. Please contact Minnie to book a time that suits you.
